The Missings Collection

This collection was born out of a cauldron of loss.

Since I was born in 1950, Painted Wolves (Wild Dogs) have decreased in Africa from roughly 500 000 to about 5 000, a loss of 99%.

Lions in the same period have gone from also about 500 000 to less than 20 000 left in the whole of Africa. The list goes on and on.

The missing parts of these bronze sculptures (hence the name The Missings) represent three things.

Firstly, the missing parts represent the animals, birds, insects etc. that we have lost already and continue to lose at an alarming rate.

Secondly, the missing parts represent mans loss of a connection with nature.

Thirdly, the parts remaining of the sculptures represent the fauna and flora that are still extant and need to be preserved at all costs.

A percentage of all sales will go towards the wildlife causes that we support and donate to.
